The short version
JT DBVault runs entirely on your own computers. Your databases, backups and credentials never
pass through our servers. We have no access to your data.
What the application stores locally
- Job configuration and connection credentials — stored on your machine in
C:\ProgramData\JTDBVault, passwords encrypted with Windows DPAPI.
- Backup files — stored only in the destinations you configure.
- Run logs — stored locally; sent only to the email recipients you configure.
What this website collects
- Standard web-server access logs (IP address, user agent) retained for security purposes.
- We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate site usage. Google Analytics
sets cookies and processes your IP address; see
Google’s privacy policy.
You can opt out with the
GA opt-out browser add-on.
- The language preference is stored in your browser (localStorage) only.
Cloud storage destinations (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox)
Connecting a cloud destination is entirely optional. If you choose one, JT DBVault uploads your
backup files directly from your computer to your own cloud account. The files and the access
tokens never pass through our servers — we never receive, store or process them.
Google user data
- What we access. JT DBVault requests only the
drive.file scope. This restricted scope lets the application see and manage
only the files it creates itself (the backup files it uploads). It cannot read,
list or modify any other file in your Google Drive.
- How it is used. Solely to upload your backup files to the folder you
choose, to list and download those backups when you restore, and to delete old backups
according to the retention period you configure.
- How it is stored. The OAuth tokens are stored only on your own computer
(
C:\ProgramData\JTDBVault), encrypted with Windows DPAPI. Backup contents are
transferred directly from your computer to Google Drive over TLS.
- Sharing. We do not transfer Google user data to any third party. We do not
use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to develop, improve or
train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
- Revoking access. You can disconnect the destination inside the application
at any time, or revoke access at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Revoking access does not delete backups already stored in your own Drive; you can delete
those yourself at any time.
JT DBVault's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services
User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Purchases
License purchases are processed by our payment provider; we receive your name, email and the
license purchased in order to deliver the key and provide support.
